they somehow manage to stumble upon this; this strange merger of heaven and hell in one little apartment.
they should have long since left, ever since Gabriel found out who she was (and Lee where he was from) they should have-- they should have--
they shouldn't be here.
but they were.
"stop trying to be philosophical, wraith, and pour me some coffee will you. Mikhail was trying to get me to memorize incantations until four in the fucking morning."
Gabriel drops into the kitchen chair, hair a mess and glasses askew, and drops her head to the bright blue placemat that they picked up at a yard sale years ago.
it makes Lee smile.
"yeah yeah." he pulls out a cup and puts it under the machine, adding more coffee (the strongest one) before pressing brew. "shouldn't ya know that kind of shit already though? like 'oh holy father, bless thi--"
the look on Gabriel's face has him stopping, hands up and coffee made perfectly in record time.
"did you cheat making this."
it's not a question, so Lee doesn't answer. he just grins and runs his Hell tanned fingers through Gabriel's mass of hair (despire creative curses and meek attempts at pushing him away) and hums a quiet tune until it almost looks like hair again.
he laughs as he places his own dishes in the sink, bright eyes fond as Gabriel clutches her coffee. "yer kinda cute, like a ruffeled kitten in the morning."
the flash of a camera phone has gone off and the sound of Lee's laughter echoes through the small apartment before Gabriel can form a threat.
Mikhail finds her an hour later, cold coffee forgotten to the side and an impressive list on how to kill her demonic roommate.
he might add an idea or two.
